30 Days, 16 Posts = BIG Brighton & Hove Impact
In less than 30 days, our Back-to-School campaign transformed Smarter Uniforms’ from a little known local service into a recognised citywide initiative.
The Challenge
For many Brighton & Hove families, the cost of school uniforms has become a real strain - with household budgets squeezed and the planet paying the price of fast fashion.
Smarter Uniforms, a Brighton-based social enterprise, was already helping families access affordable, sustainable school wear. But with low brand visibility and limited engagement, their online marketplace wasn’t reaching the families who needed it most.
To maximise impact during the critical AW25 Back-to-School period, Smarter Uniforms needed to reignite awareness, and ensure second-hand school uniforms became a first-choice solution.
The Approach
To reposition Smarter Uniforms as a trusted community movement. Turning second-hand stigma into an impactful city-wide solution that helps Brighton & Hove families save money and cut landfill waste.
We turned complex national statistics into clear local data, ensuring the campaign’s message resonated with local families and drove Brighton & Hove impact.
The Solution
Smarter Uniforms partnered with Tide & Bloom to deliver a city-wide Back-to-School Marketing & PR campaign with a simple call to action: Stop, Swap & Save.
Delivering a focused 30-day content strategy to boost brand visibility, secure local PR coverage and to build campaign amplification with local community partners.
We anchored the campaign in local pride, with recognisable Brighton & Hove landmark illustrations featuring the i360, the Amex Football Stadium and Rampion Wind Farm Turbines.
The Impact
In less than 30 days, the Back-to-School campaign transformed Smarter Uniforms’ brand visibility and impact; from a little known local service into a recognised citywide initiative.
“I’ve never had so many notifications on our Instagram before.” Smarter Uniforms
The Stop, Swap & Save campaign didn’t just grow numbers, it grew local pride, partnerships, and possibilities. New council support, volunteer interest, and community engagement ensured Smarter Uniforms became more visible.
In just 30 days, Smarter Uniforms' visibility soared with local Instagram views increasing by 10,300% and follower growth up by 35%. This surge drove new users to the marketplace as well as more parents listing and buying second-hand uniforms.
The campaign extended reach to new audiences, influencers, and parent networks, but the campaign’s success went far beyond social media. A successful PR campaign secured Smarter Uniforms multiple online articles and local magazine features.
With new partners, council support, city-wide PR, and volunteer interest, Smarter Uniforms has made second-hand school uniforms more visible and accessible – helping families cut costs while reducing textile waste across the community.
